In the Shadow Essential that I have my true size fit me. They are a narrow brand across the board, so just know that.

@@karls8989 The Boston 12 is one of my favorites right now, and this tops it. The feel is similar; it has great impact protection but feels readily available when you want to pick up the pace. It seems similar but more robust than the Boston.

The Hyperion Max 2 is more responsive while the Boston 12 is softer. The Hyperion Max 2 is a faster shoe and much closer to the Nike Zoom Fly 5 than to the Boston 12.

@@MedicineRunner thanks for the correction. It was a slip of the tongue, and I realized it as soon as I said “nitrogen infused” 🤦🏾‍♂️ haha. I knew better because Puma and Brooks have two of my favorite midsole toolings in recent years. Yeah this shoe is a monster! I’ve had it on nonstop for the last few days. The versatility is off the charts and I very much prefer this foam over the squish of pebax foams. Thanks for the comment and view!

@@RDQLUS all good man! And yep! I agree, it’s very versatile. Just finished an 11 miler progressive and got up to threshold at the end and it was smooth as hell. PEBA foams are great when they are tuned right but seems some of the brands miss the mark on that.

@@MedicineRunner nice! Agreed; I’m a Masters sprinter/jumper, so I’m uptempo, plyos, hills, stairs… all of which I’ve put this shoe through the past few days. Ate it up without missing a step. PEBA feels great in some uses, but it’s often too mushy for me. I had a problem like that back in the ASICS Gel days… impact attenuation is only part of the equation, I need to get a good portion of that energy back. TPU (Boost) was a great shift 10 years ago, and TPE & supercritical TPE are amazing for me now.

Mannn don’t even get me started on these mushy foams everybody raves about 😂, I’m 180 lbs pretty lean and you appear pretty built yourself so us heavier guys definitely seem to get along with the firmer stuff. I still love boost, it’s just so heavy. Definitely opened the door to great midsole technology advancements tho.

@@MedicineRunner you called it; I’m 6’ 3.5” / 200lbs. I destroy mushy foams. Dense with great rebound is heaven because we can compress the denser foams.

Huge speed 3 fan here. I honestly prefer the Hyperion max 2 😮 they are seriously so fun to run in. Just remember they have a TPEE foam component so give them like 10-15 miles to break in just a tad.

It’s quality. They’re quite thick cuts of material so they are sturdy… more like tanks lol 😂

😆 they do look like that haha. For looks I prefer the 900x, but the 900 is far more comfortable. Exact same upper fit. I want to try the new 900x v2, which seems to have far better cushioning than v1. What’s you foot type (narrow, flat, high arch, etc) and needs for your 15k sessions (energy return, efficiency, roll, etc)?

Very interesting question! I would say not to because of the integrity of the plates and foam; because the plates are exposed, water would be able to get between the foam pieces. That’s just my guess because I’ve had mine on in the rain and they squeaked a good deal until they dried. That material should be pretty easily washed with a good brush kit and a damp towel, then stuffed with a dry towel to soak the excess moisture. Hope that helps, and thanks for commenting!

I think so. In my opinion, it’s so efficient that you don’t get beat up as much to begin with.

They seem to have started very stiff and broke in just a bit. But they are far stiffer than previous models.

No, it doesn’t feel like the Alpha Fly bounce. The cushioning is responsive, but there’s more of a forward roll. There is a little bit of bounce from the pebax insole.

It’s actually a factory sample of a pair I was testing for my accessories brand HVYCRWN by RDQLUS. Production quantities were out of my range, but I did buy this sample and they are fire! There are no screws, foldable and held together by only the spring tension of the metal. There are a couple of similar styles from two European brands; “Roav” and another called “IC Berlin”. Hope that helps.
